What is NUMS MDCAT?
The NUMS MDCAT is the entrance examination conducted by the National University of Medical Sciences, Islamabad, for admission to NUMS-affiliated medical and dental institutions including Army Medical College (AMC), AFNS and several public and private NUMS-constituent colleges across Pakistan.
NUMS MDCAT 2026 has two papers. Paper-I is a 150-MCQ test of 2 hours and 45 minutes covering Biology (55 MCQs), Chemistry (40 MCQs), Physics (40 MCQs) and English (15 MCQs). Paper-II is a separate Psychological Test of 50 MCQs in 15 minutes that assesses aptitude, situational judgement and decision-making for the medical profession.
The difficulty distribution for Paper-I is 20% Easy, 60% Moderate, 20% Hard, with 70% recall and 30% application-level questions in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The syllabus is largely aligned with the FSc Pre-Medical curriculum, so students preparing for PMDC MDCAT 2026 can use the same content base with adjusted subject weightage and the additional Psychological Test.
