Why We Built PrepMDCAT
Every year, over 200,000 students across Pakistan appear for the PMC MDCAT exam, competing for limited seats in medical and dental colleges. For most of these students, getting into medical school is not just a career choice — it is a family's dream, years of hard work, and the hope of a better future. Yet the reality is that quality MDCAT preparation has historically been concentrated in major cities, locked behind expensive coaching centers that charge Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 200,000 for a few months of classes.
PrepMDCAT was born from a simple but powerful realization: a student's ability to prepare for the MDCAT should not depend on their geography or financial situation. In 2023, our founder Ibrahim Akram, a Senior Software Engineer based in Dubai, decided to combine his technical expertise with a deep understanding of Pakistan's educational challenges. Having grown up in Gujrat, Punjab, he knew firsthand how students outside major cities struggled to find quality study materials and expert guidance.
Together with co-founder Mubashar and a team of medical professionals including Dr. Rimsha and Dr. Hamza Naeem, they built PrepMDCAT from the ground up. The platform was designed with Pakistan's unique challenges in mind: it works offline for students with limited internet, runs smoothly on budget smartphones, offers a generous free tier, and provides AI-powered tutoring that adapts to each student's learning pace and weaknesses.
Today, PrepMDCAT serves over 10,000 active students across all provinces of Pakistan. Our question bank has grown to 50,000+ carefully curated MCQs, each with detailed explanations written and reviewed by qualified medical professionals. We offer comprehensive chapter-wise study notes, smart flashcards with spaced repetition, realistic mock tests that simulate the actual MDCAT experience, and an AI tutor that provides instant explanations for any concept. And we are just getting started.

Founder & CEO
Senior Software Engineer based in Dubai with over 6 years of experience building scalable mobile and web applications. Ibrahim founded PrepMDCAT after witnessing firsthand how students in smaller cities of Punjab struggled to access quality MDCAT preparation resources. His vision is to democratize medical entrance exam preparation through technology, making it possible for any student with a smartphone to prepare as effectively as those attending expensive coaching centers in Lahore or Islamabad.

CTO & Co-Founder
Software Engineer based in Pakistan specializing in mobile development and backend architecture. Mubashar architects the entire technology stack powering PrepMDCAT, from the adaptive learning engine that personalizes each student's experience to the real-time analytics dashboard that tracks performance across thousands of students.
